Monarch Education Solutions (“Monarch”) respects your right to privacy concerning all information that is exchanged while interacting with our website. Any Personally Identifiable information you provide to Monarch will not be shared with any external person or entity. What Personal Data do we collect and why we collect it

Personal data is not created by a user’s interactions with the site. Personal data is generated from technical processes such as completion of contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds.

If you submit a form, set up an account, subscribe to our blog or process a transaction in our store, you may be asked to provide your: name, e-mail, affiliated organization, mailing address, phone number or credit card information.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included, visitors to the website will be able to download and extract any location data from these images.

Contact forms

Submission forms on our website are facilitated by our marketing automation platform – Pardot. The information collected is limited to: name, affiliated organization, email, and location data. Information submitted through these forms is only used for activities corresponding with the form designation.

Embedded content from other websites

Some articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Our website does utilize cookies. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer through your web browser (if enabled by the user) that allow the site to recognize your browser and capture certain information. We use cookies to ensure that the shopping/checkout process runs smoothly, to monitor the performance of advertisements and other marketing initiatives, and to aggregate data about site traffic and interaction – we do these things to evaluate and adapt our offerings to create a better customer experience. Google Analytics

Data Used: Please refer to the appropriate Google Analytics documentation for the specific type of data it collects. This site operates a WooCommerce (also owned by Automattic) store and has all purchase tracking explicitly enabled, purchase events will send Google Analytics the following information: order number, product id and name, product category, total cost, and quantity of items purchased. Google Analytics does offer IP anonymization.

Activity Tracked: This feature sends page view events (and potentially video play events) over to Google Analytics for consumption. WooCommerce sends some additional events to Google Analytics: shopping cart additions and removals, product listing views and clicks, product detail views, and purchases.

Mobile Theme

Data Used: A visitor’s preference on viewing the mobile version of a site.

Activity Tracked: A cookie (akm_mobile) is stored for 3.5 days to remember whether or not a visitor of the site wishes to view its mobile version. Learn more about this cookie.

Sharing

Data Used: When sharing content via email, the following information is used: sharing party’s name and email address (if the user is logged in, this information will be pulled directly from their account), IP address (for spam checking), user agent (for spam checking), and email body/content. This content will be sent to Akismet (also owned by Automattic) so that a spam check can be performed. Additionally, when reCAPTCHA (by Google) is submitted the party’s IP address will be shared with that service. You can find Google’s privacy policy here.

Subscriptions

Data Used: To initiate and process subscriptions, the following information is used: subscriber’s email address and the ID of the post or comment (depending on the specific subscription being processed). In the event of a new subscription being initiated, we also collect some basic server data, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address from which the subscribing user is viewing the page, and the URI which was given in order to access the page (REQUEST_URI and DOCUMENT_URI). This server data used for the exclusive purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.

Activity Tracked: Functionality cookies are set for a duration of 347 days to remember a visitor’s blog and post subscription choices if, in fact, they have an active subscription.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Data protection

Your Personal Information will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to any other entity for any reason without your express consent, other than for the specific purpose of delivering a product or service that was requested.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the security of your data when you submit your personal information. We offer the use of a secure server. All data is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. In addition, all ecommerce transactions are encrypted into our Payment gateway provider’s database (Paypal), only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights and legally responsible to keep said data confidential. Once a transaction is complete, no sensitive date (credit cards etc.) is stored on our servers.
